Your Passport stays active on your account. You can update it at any time, for example when you move, change jobs or get a new reference, and the latest version is what agents and landlords see.

Your Passport is your verified rental profile. It holds what an agent or landlord needs to consider your application, so you complete it once and apply to rooms without filling in the same forms again. You choose who sees it.

Create a free account, then build your Passport from your dashboard. You can browse and enquire straight away; the Passport is what you send when you apply.

A photo and ID, with a Right to Rent check; your previous landlord (or the reason you have none); your employer details; your move-in date, preferred length of stay and areas, and whether you smoke or have pets; and guarantor details if you need a guarantor. You are told what is required as you go.

The Passport is free. Browsing and enquiring are free, and Homeshare does not charge tenants agent fees. Any charge for an optional service is shown before you proceed.

It depends on your location, budget and requirements, and on which rooms are listed at the time. Once your Passport is complete you can apply straight away. How long a move takes after that depends on how quickly the agent or landlord responds, on references, and on your move-in date.

Much of it, yes. You can manage your Passport, applications, documents and agreements from your Homeshare account. Some steps, such as property viewings, still take place in person.

Find a room, send an enquiry or book a viewing, then apply with your Passport. If the agent or landlord accepts, you sign your contract online and arrange your move-in. Viewings themselves take place in person.

Depending on the services you use, verification can include identity checks, Right to Rent checks, credit checks and references. You will be told what information is required during the application process.
